For example, what do research funders expect in terms of open access to publications and/or researchdata?Whereandhowtopublish the researchdata?Howtoensure that the resultsof the researchare reproducible? (Schmidt et al., 2016). Thepurposeofthischapteristopresentwhatcontributionscanemanatefromopen trainingpractices,suchasMOOCsandOERforthefieldofopeneducation,withinthe frameworkofaprojectaimedat traininginenergysustainability.TheProjectcomes fromthe266632Bi-NationalLaboratoryonSmartSustainableEnergyManagement andTechnologyTraining,fundedbytheNationalCouncilofScienceandTechnology (CONACYT)andby theEnergySustainabilityFundof theSecretariatofEnergyof Mexico (SENER) (Fig.10.1). The Binational Laboratory is made up of the Tecnologico de Monterrey, the NationalTechnologicalInstituteofMexico, throughtheNationalCenterforTechno- logicalResearchandDevelopment (CENIDET), theNational InstituteofElectricity andCleanEnergies (INEEL), theArizonaStateUniversityandtheBerkeleyEnergy andClimate Institute (BECI)of theUniversityofCaliforniaatBerkeley.Within the framework of theBinational Laboratory, jointworkwas establishedwith the Fed- eral Electricity Commission (CFE), whichwas key to the selection of openmass courses (MOOCs),whichhave led to the formationofmoreof200,000participants frommorethan50countries(datafromtheMexicoXandEdXplatforms),wherethe followingcountries standoutbynumberofparticipants:Argentina,Bolivia,Brazil, Chile,Colombia,Ecuador,Spain, theUnitedStates,Guatemala,Honduras,Mexico, theNetherlands,Paraguay,Peru,theDominicanRepublicandVenezuela.Figure10.2 shows theMOOCtopicsand the suggested sequence for theparticipants.
