Abensperg-Traun, Otto Ferdinand Graf von#
b. Sopron, Hungary (then Oedenburg), Aug. 27, 1677, d. Sibiu, Rumania (then Hermannstadt), Feb. 10, 1748, general. Commanded the Austrian troops in Italy during the War of the Spanish Succession as Adjutant General to Field Marshal Guido Count Starhemberg; after 1725 interim governor of the duchy of Milan, 1737 Governor of Mantua, Parma and Vicenza. During the War of the Austrian Succession was made Commander of the Austrian and Sardinian troops, forced the Prussian troops to retreat from Bohemia and drove the French troops back across the Rhine.
