Anif, province of Salzburg, municipality in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung (Salzburg area), 439 m, pop. 4,165, 7.61 km2, tourist resort (136,985 overnight stays) on the outskirts of Salzburg. - Diverse economic structure (approx. 62 % of employed people are in the service sector), cement production, prefabricated concrete parts, potting soil, workshop furnishings and machine tools; pharmaceuticals plant. - Moated castle (16th century, altered 1838-1848 in neo-Gothic Romanticised style) with especially beautiful landscape garden.
