Annaberg#
Annaberg, Lower Austria, municipality in the district of Lilienfeld, alt. 976 m, pop. 891, area 63.48 km2, biseasonal tourist resort (71,466 overnight stays), timber processing. Historically significant for its location on the pilgrimage route to Mariazell; iron, silver and lead mining in the 18th century (until 1813). - Parish church (15th-17th centuries), with wood carving group of St. Anne, the Virgin Mary and the child Jesus (1440) by J. Kaschauer (?) and Baroque high altar (1686); Joachimsberg chapel (1690); Lassingfall waterfall (90 m), power plant, Alpine nature park.
