Appel, Carl#
b. Vienna, April 18, 1911, d. Vienna, Feb. 13, 1997; architect. Studied at the School of Applied Art and under C. Holzmeister at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna; 1936 he was awarded the "Meisterschulpreis". Initially mainly concerned with residential buildings, he later designed industrial, administrative, hotel and larger residential buildings. Responsible for the reconstruction of the "Opernringhof" (previously Heinrichhof) and the National Bank.
