Art-Club#
Art-Club, Viennese association of artists in the postwar period, founded 1947, one of the most progressive platforms for young painters, sculptors, authors and musicians in the struggle for the autonomy of modern art. The president and prominent mentor of the group was A. P. Guetersloh. Art-Club exhibitions mostly took place in the Zedlitzhalle or in the Secession in Vienna. For a long time, the artistic image of the Art-Club was mainly characterised by a harmonious juxtaposition of Surrealists ( Vienna School of Fantastic Realism) and abstract painters. The Art-Club was dissolved in 1959.
