Bühler, Karl#
b. Meckesheim (Germany), May 27, 1879, d. Los Angeles (USA), Oct. 24, 1963, psychologist, 1922-1938 university professor in Vienna, he and his wife Charlotte Buehler headed a psychology research group, emigrated to the USA in 1939, research into the processes involved in cognition, discrimination and volition; his theory of language separated language functions into expression, appeal and description.
