Bachler, Klaus#

b. Fohnsdorf (Styria), March 29, 1951, actor, cultural manager, theatre manager. Studied at the Reinhardt Seminar drama school, then acted at the Salzburg Landestheater and at various theatres in Germany. From 1987 artistic director at the State theatres in Berlin, from 1990 in Paris, 1992-1996 director of the Vienna Festival, 1996-1999 director of the Volksoper in Vienna; since 1999 director of the Burgtheater in Vienna.
