Badminton#
Badminton, court game played with long-handled rackets (similar to tennis rackets); played in Austria since the beginning of modern times, especially by the nobility. Badminton developed into a modern day competitive sport in England. At first mainly played as non-competitive sport called "Federball" (shuttlecock) in Austria; the Austrian Badminton Federation (OeBV), founded 1957, is composed of 143 regional associations (as of 1993) and has 6,190 members.
