Baumgarten im Burgenland#

Baumgarten im Burgenland, Burgenland, municipality in the district of Mattersburg, alt. 255 m, pop. 880, area 6.96 km2, village built around an oblong green, near the Austrian border with Hungary, part of the population is Croatian, first documented around 1267, Baroque parish church with high altar (late 18th century), graveyard surrounded with what used to be a defensive wall, former convent (18th century, dissolved in 1782), called Oedes Kloster, to the west of the village, church from the 15th century.
