Bocksberger, Johann, der Ältere#
b. between 1500 and 1515, d. between 1562 and 1569, painter, father of Johann Melchior Bocksberger. During the 1540s and 1550s worked in Salzburg, Landshut (seat of Duke Georg), Munich and Prague. He also created frescoes and drawings. His style contains German elements (A. Duerer) as well as Italian characteristics (Renaissance, Mannerism).
