Bramberg am Wildkogel#
Bramberg am Wildkogel, province of Salzburg, municipality in the district of Zell am See, alt. 819 m, pop. 3,658, area 116.94 km2, tourist resort (188,358 overnight stays per year). Situated in the Upper Salzach valley at the foot of the Wildkogel (alt. 2,225 m), west of Mittersill in the Pinzgau area. - "Felberhaus" multi-purpose hall, former emerald mine (commercial activity stopped in 1987), secondary college of domestic science, agricultural secondary school; wood processing (sawmill, prefab houses) and metal processing (heating, door, window and railing production), electric power plant, wood-burning district heating and power station. - Late Gothic parish church (1505-1511, enlarged from 1887-1889), Baroque altars with Gothic stone pietà (1400) and crucifix (1646); Weyer ruin (12th century, destroyed in 1490).
