Bruck an der Grossglocknerstrasse, province of Salzburg, municipality in the district of Zell am See, alt. 755 m, pop. 3,926, area 45.75 km2, bi-seasonal tourism (331,278 overnight stays, particularly during the summer months); situated at the point where the Fuscher Valley joins the Salzach Valley in the Pinzgau region. - Sheltered workshop, agricultural school, hydraulic engineering agency; wood-processing (sawmill and planing works), district heating plant (burning wood chips), production of ventilation systems, Salzburg AG fuer Energiewirtschaft (maintenance and repair of electricity transmission lines), trading firms. Parish church (rebuilt in 1868/69 by F. Schmidt); late Gothic altarpiece. Church at St. Georgen with frescoes and a Gothic Lady-altar (around 1520, re-gothicised in 1885, mural from 1518, altar from 1518); church at Hundsdorf (1736-1741). Fischhorn castle (13th century, remodelled in neo-Gothic style from 1863 to 1867, partly reconstructed after a fire in 1921).
