Bundesrechenzentrum GmbH, BRZ (Federal Computing Centre), established in 1997 when the Federal Payments Office was spun off from the public authorities and transformed into a Gesellschaft mit beschraenkter Haftung, 100% owned by the Republic of Austria. As the public authorities' competence centre for information technology, the company receives its commissions from the supreme organs of the Republic and their subordinated institutions through the Federal Ministry of Finance, which acts as contractor and the company's strategic partner.
