Burjan, Hildegard geborene Freund#
b. Gorlice, Poland (then Goerlitz, Germany), Jan. 30, 1883, d. Vienna, June 11, 1933, Christian social reformer and politician, 1919/20 first Christian Socialist member of the Constituent National Assembly, founder of the Caritas Socialis charity for women, organiser of the Christian homeworkers´ society, re-established the Travellers' Aid Society, initiator of the St. Elisabeth soup kitchens and of the Seipel-Dollfuss Memorial Church in the 15th district of Vienna.
