Data Protection, protection of personal data against misuse in its processing and application.


The 1978 Data Protection Act contains a fundamental right to data protection, regulates accessibility and use of data, and provides legal protection for consumers.

The data protection measures passed by the EU and taking effect May 25, 2018 are quite far reaching, protecting the anonymity (if they wish) of e.g. authors contributing to the material in Austria-Forum, hence are a potential danger to any data-base including Austria-Forum that under the cover of anonymity fake news can be spread without consequences.
