Dreizehnlinden#
Dreizehnlinden (Treze Tilias), town (1981 pop. approx. 5,600) with Tyrolean-style houses in southern Brazil, in the state of Santa Catarina, founded in 1933 by the Austrian Minister of Agriculture, Thaler, for impoverished Tirolean mountain farmers; since 1956 a separate district together with the pilgrimage village of Babenberg (chicken farms) and the village of Rosengarten; dairy farming, craftsmen´s workshops; recently developed into a climatic health resort (6 hotels with capacity for 500-600 guests), bus tourism; regional centre of culture and sports (culture centre, sports stadium), secondary school; cultivation of Austrian culture and German language.
