b. Moedling, Lower Austria, Oct. 2, 1895, d. Vienna, June 7, 1957, mathematician. Studied and pursued his academic career at the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology. Forced to retire for political reasons in 1938. 1945-57 head of the Department of Mathematics of the Vienna University of Technology. Studied geometrical problems, tensor analysis and the algebra of electrical circuits. Member of the Bundesrat (Federal Council) for the SPOe 1945-57.
