Eberhard III. von Neuhaus#

b. Doberna (Slovenia), d. Salzburg, Jan. 18, 1427. Archbishop of Salzburg from 1403, renounced Berchtesgaden in 1409, succeeded in opposing the Habsburgs and Wittelsbachs and in maintaining his position in the conflict of the three popes; however, E. experienced difficulties with the Estates (Igelbund, an association of the Salzburg aristocracy and the middle classes) and condoned persecution of the Jews in 1404.
