Edelstahl#

Steel, High-grade, produced by blending of refining metals of medium- and high-grade special steels with low sulphur and phosphate content. In Austria, high-quality steel production and working has a long tradition (Boehlerwerk, Kapfenberg; Schoeller-Bleckmann, Ternitz; Steirische Gussstahlwerke, Judenburg). The plants were merged into the VEW in the framework of the OeIAG on January 1, 1975, and later separated again. In 1994, the most important plant was Boehler-Uddeholm (1994), notation on the stock exchange in the spring of 1995. Austria exported 220,000 t high-grade steel in 1993.
