Eferdinger Becken#

Eferding Basin, Upper Austria, also named Aschach Basin, fertile riverine meadowlands, gravel basin on both sides of the River Danube, between Passau valley and Linzer Pforte, from Aschach to Schoenering; very favourable climate: summers are warmer than anywhere else in Upper Austria. From the early Middle Ages until the 19th century wine-growing, today mainly fruit and vegetable growing. Main town: Eferding.
