Egger, Franz, geb. 1810#
b. Ljubljana, Slovenia (then Laibach), Sept. 25, 1810, d. Vienna, Feb. 6, 1877, legal scholar, 1843-1877 lawyer in Vienna, 1848 member of the National Assembly in Frankfurt, was director of the First Austrian Savings Bank and the Austrian National Bank, also held leading roles in musical organisations (Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna; Singing Academy). The E. family produced several generations of lawyers (Franz E. Jr., d. 1888, Gustav E., d. 1926, Ernst E., d. 1952).
