Eisstocksport#
Austrian Curling (Eisstockschiessen); in Austria this game has been played since the early modern age, it is a popular past-time and competition sport; a game played on ice in the winter and on asphalt during the rest of the year ("Stocksport"); tournaments comprise regular team competitions and individual skills competitions in the disciplines of long or target shooting (on the tee) with "Eisstoecke" (ice stock). The Austrian curling association (Bund Oesterreichischer Eis- und Stockschuetzen (BOeE)) was founded in 1935 and comprises 1,822 clubs with 113,958 members (as of 1993).
