b. Vienna, Oct. 26, 1866, d. Berlin (Germany), March 9, 1944, electrochemist, worked at Siemens & Halske in Vienna and Berlin. 1920 became professor at the Technical University in Berlin, developed the technical application of electrochemical processes and electrometallurgy.
