Exner, Franz Serafin (1802-1853)#
b. Vienna, Aug. 28, 1802, d. Padua (Italy), June 21, 1853, philosopher, reformer of the educational system, father of Adolf Exner, Franz Exner and Karl Exner. and of Siegmund von Exner-Ewarten; 1831-1848 professor of philosophy in Prague; from 1845 to 1847 took part in the reform efforts of the Court Study Committee; 1848 senior official in the Ministry of Education. He was largely responsible for a draft on the basic aspects of Austria's public educational system, "Entwurf der Grundzuege des oeffentlichen Unterrichtswesens in Oesterreich", which was the basis for the development of Austria's educational institutions until late in the 20th century Organisationsentwurf 1849, Bonitz, Thun-Hohenstein, Gymnasium, Philosophische Lehranstalt, Reifepruefung.
