Felber Tauern#
Felber Tauern Pass, alt. 2,481 m, mountain pass situated in the Hohen Tauern range between the Venediger and Glockner mountains, connects Salzburg with East Tirol by linking the Felber valley with the Tauern valley; not accessible by car. The Felber Tauern Pass was the most frequented Tauern mountain pass in Roman times; in the mid 1960s a tunnel was constructed under the Felber Tauern Pass at an altitude of 1,632 m (East Tirol), which provides the shortest route between Salzburg and East Tirol.
