Fischer, Johann Martin#
b. Bebele (Germany), Nov. 2, 1740, d. Vienna, April 27, 1820, sculptor and anatomist; lived in Vienna from 1760; 1806 professor of sculpture at the Academy; 1815 director of the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts; important representative of classicist sculpture in Austria. During his lifetime he was famous for his anatomical dummy ("Anatomie-Figur"), which was based on his anatomical studies.
