Fuchs, Johann Nepomuk, geb. 1842#
b. Frauenthal (Styria), May 5, 1842, d. Bad Voeslau (Lower Austria), Oct. 15, 1899, composer and Kapellmeister, brother of Robert Fuchs (b. 1847); from 1880 orchestra director at the Court Opera in Vienna, 1893 head of the conservatory of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna, 1894 deputy Kapellmeister of the court orchestra. Edited operas of C. W. Gluck and F. Schubert and promoted the complete edition of Schubert.
