Göstling an der Ybbs#
Goestling an der Ybbs, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Scheibbs, alt. 532 m, pop. 2,187, area 143.55 km2, tourism especially during the winter months, Hochkar ski resort (105 796 overnight stays). Situated at the foot of the Koenigsberg mountain (highest peak: Schwarzkogel, 1,452 m) and the foothills of the Goestling Alps near the Styrian border. - Toll road from Lassing to the Hochkar mountain, high altitude training centre and student hostel (skiing centre); small-scale commercial businesses. - Parish church from the late Baroque period with Gothic elements, charnel house, presbytery office with 16th century sgraffito ornamentation; Way of the cross (1735). Mendlintal adventure park with the last log driving facility in Central Europe. Hochkar cave in the immediate environs
