Giencke, Volker#
b. Wolfsberg (Carinthia), June 27, 1947, architect. Professor of experimental architecture at the University of Innsbruck. Belongs to the "Graz School" of architecture. Worked with G. Domenig 1974-1978; visiting professor at universities in a number of countries in North and South America as well as in Europe.
Projects: private homes; glass houses in the Botanical Garden of the
University of Graz, 1982ff; gymnasium for the Kepler grammar school,
Graz 1987-1993; several buildings (showrooms, offices, warehouses) for
wholesale sanitation products, Klagenfurt 1989/1990; church in Aigen
im Ennstal, 1991/1992; Austrian pavilion at the EXPO 92, Seville;
apartment building C.-Spitzweg-Gasse, Graz 1992/1993; Hotel
"Speicher", Barth (Germany), 1995-1997.
