Gottsdorfer Scheibe#
Gottsdorfer Scheibe (Ybbser Scheibe), Lower Austria, plains on the northern bank of the River Danube, between the towns of Persenbeug (alt. 222 m) and Gottsdorf (alt. 224 m). On the southern bank, the Ybbs, River flows into the Danube. The Danube forms an oxbow around the plain. Rapids and shallows were formerly a danger to ships, and Austrians still call this part of the Danube "Boese Beuge" (baneful bend).
