Haitinger, Max, b. Vienna, April 20, 1868, d. Klosterneuburg (Lower Austria), Feb. 19, 1946, research chemist, brother of Ludwig Camillo Haitinger, initially teacher at cadet school; founder of modern fluorescence microscopy and fluorochrome technique.
