Handel-Mazzetti, Enrica Freiin von auch Marien Kind#
Handel-Mazzetti, Baroness Enrica von (also: Marien Kind), b. Vienna, Jan. 10, 1871, d. Linz (Upper Austria), April 8, 1955, author. H.-M. settled in Linz in 1911, wrote mainly historical novels and novellas which are often set in the time of the religious wars and depict the differences between Catholics and Protestants. Her successful books are marked by unusual archaistic language. Awarded the Ebner Eschenbach Prize in 1914. A literature award named after her was set up in 1951.
