Hanus, Heinz#
b. Vienna, May 24, 1882, d. Bad Aussee (Styria), March 16, 1972, actor, (film) director, producer, film pioneer. In 1908 made the 1st Austrian movie "Von Stufe zu Stufe" (not preserved). In 1922 founded the "Filmbund" association of film makers. In 1922 supervised the first attempt to produce a colour film in Austria ("Fatmes Errettung") and in 1930 made the first Austrian short sound film ("In der Theateragentur"). In 1919 managed the "Yugoslawia" and in 1920 the "Astoria" film company, later worked as an independent producer and director (incl. "Gevatter Tod", 1921; "Schoene Wilde Welt"; "William Ratcliff", 1922).
