Hartmann, Harriet Katharina Elisabeth#
b. Leipzig, Germany, Feb. 19, 1907, d. Stainach, Styria, July 17, 1998, industrialist. From the 1920s onward she and her husband Fritz Hartmann were proprietors of a large German group of paper mills, which included Frantschach AG. Forced to sell their possessions in the National Socialist era, they regained possession of Frantschach AG in 1952. After her husband's death, H. H. became sole proprietress and developed her company into a world-wide operation. After 1992 she sold a 50% interest to the South African Mondi group.
