Hasenhut, Anton#
b. Novi Sad, Yugoslavia (then Peterwardein), June 1, 1766, d. Vienna, Feb. 6, 1841, actor and comedian. In 1789 K. von Marinelli took him to the Leopoldstaedter Theater, where he created the part of "Thaddaedl" (a dim-wit with funny clothes, a strange hair-style and an exaggerated, thin, high-pitched voice). 1803-1819 at the Theater an der Wien and guest performances in some German cities, later played only small roles and during his last years worked as a copyist.
