Hein, Erwin#
b. Graz (Styria), April 4, 1905, d. Linz (Upper Austria), Jan. 8, 1989, geodesist, alpinist, mountain guide in Upper Austria. 1922-1928 first to climb many peaks of the Austrian Alps, 1929 took part in an expedition to the Andes, then stayed in South America for 11 years. Carried out surveying work for a map of the Andes which remains the best even today.
