Hellmesberger, Josef junior Pepi#
b. Vienna, April 9, 1855, d. Vienna, April 26, 1907, conductor, composer, son of Josef Hellmesberger sr.; played the violin in his father's string quartet, from 1878 solo violinist in the court orchestra and at the Court Opera. Taught at the Vienna Conservatory, 1890 musical director of the court orchestra; 1901-1903 successor of G. Mahler as director of Philharmonic concerts.
