Helly, Eduard#

b. Vienna, June 1, 1884, d. Chicago (USA), Nov. 28, 1943, mathematician. Employed at the Bodencreditanstalt bank, from 1921 taught at the University of Vienna, from 1938 at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Research into real functions and set theory. One theorem of the theory regarding the overlapping of convex bodies is named after him.
