Hirtenberg, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Baden, alt. 285 m, pop. 2,088, area 1.47 km2, industrial town located where the Triestingtal valley opens into the Vienna Basin. - Prison. About 59 % of all employees work in industry: metal-working industry (manufacture of cartridges, steel wheels, superstructures for trucks and hydraulic systems), textile industry.
