Hittisau, Vorarlberg, municipality in the district of Bregenz, alt. 790 m, pop. 1,721, area 46.65 km2, bi-seasonal tourism, climatic health resort (94,514 overnight stays) between the rivers Bolgenach and Subersach, in the Vorderer Bregenzerwald region. - Traffic licencing office, Balderschwang customs office and customs authority department, vacation home; manufacture of metal products, signs, meat products, sawmills. - Late-Classicist parish church (1842-1845, the largest in the Bregenzerwald area), ceiling paintings 1941 and 1980; Kommabruecke bridge, the oldest roofed wooden bridge (around 1700) in the Bregenzerwald; Liessenbachbruecke bridge (1855); about 7 km northeast lies Lake Leckner; museum of Alpine dairy farming.
