Hoffer, Klaus#
b. Graz (Styria), Dec. 27, 1942, narrative author, essayist and translator. Studied German, English and the classics; grammar-school teacher. His greatest success was his work "Bieresch-Saga" in 2 vols., which follows the traditional form of a novel on character development while demonstrating the absurdity of that tradition. Awards: 1980 A. Doeblin Prize and Rauris Literature Prize.
