Hohenegg, Lower Austria, located in the municipality of Hafnerbach in the district of St. Poelten, impressive fortress from the 12th /13th  centuries with gatehouse, 5-storey keep and great hall, extended 1594, from 1629 property of the Montecuccoli family, derelict since the roof was removed in 1800.
