b. Vienna, Dec. 16, 1863, d. Leoben (Styria), Dec. 21, 1918, politician, son of Konstantin Prince of Hohenlohe-Schillingsfuerst; governor of Trieste, 1906 Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior for a short period, then governor again until 1913, 1915/16 Minister of the Interior, 1916 Minister of Finance. As highest official at the court under Emperor Karl I contributed much to the federalist re-organisation of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Was called the "red prince" for his political convictions in favour of the working class.
