Holub, Emil#
b. Holice, Czech Republic (then Holitz), Oct. 7, 1847, d. Vienna, Feb. 21, 1902, ethnologist, explorer. In 1872 went to South Africa as a physician, 1873-1887 went on many expeditions through Africa. 1883 he and his wife Rosa tried to cross Africa from North to South. He divided up his collections on natural history and ethnology among numerous institutions.
