Hoyos-Sprintzenstein, Johann Ernst, Count, b. Vienna, Feb. 24, 1779, d. Vienna, Oct. 28, 1849, general. Improved Georg Huebmer´s logging system of the Neuwald area around the Gippel and Goeller mountains. raised a militia battalion in 1809, was appointed to important positions ("Obersthofjaegermeister", "Landesjaegermeister") in the Mariabrunn forestry school and the Purkersdorf forestry office in the Vienna Woods; in 1848 commander of the national guard in Vienna.
