Hudal, Alois, b. Graz (Styria), May 31, 1885, d. Rome (Italy), May 13, 1963, theologian. 1923 professor of Old Testament studies at the university of Graz, 1923-1952 rector of the Anima theological college in Rome, tried to mediate between the Church and National Socialism.
