Hueber, Anton#
b. Domazlice, Czech Republic (then Taus), Sept. 27, 1861, d. Vienna, July 9, 1935, wood turner and Social Democratic politician. Noted leader of the socialist workers' movement and the trade union. 1895 head of the Trade Union Commission, 1919-1920 member of the Constituent National Assembly, 1920-1930 member of the Nationalrat, 1930-1932 member of the Bundesrat. He especially advocated "collective" agreements on working conditions and collaborated with F. Hanusch to improve protection of workers' legislation. Honorary citizen of Vienna. A.-H.-House in Hadersdorf-Weidlingau (trade union training institution).
