Hueber, Blasius#
Hueber, Blasius, b. Oberperfuss (Tyrol), Feb. 1, 1735, d. Itzing bei Innsbruck (Tyrol), April 4, 1814, land surveyor and farmer. Despite poor schooling, became an expert in land surveying. From 1765, co-operated with P. Anich on a 20-page atlas of the Tyrol (1 : 103,888), which he completed, adding a survey map of the entire area (published in 1774 as a copper plate engraving). From 1771-1774 he prepared a map of Vorarlberg (printed in 1783) and from 1775-1777 a map of the province of Upper and Lower Swabia (printed in 1782). His topographic representation technique was superior to that of Anich's.
