Hums, Franz, b. Sommerein (Lower Austria), Sept. 8, 1937, from 1955 employee of the OeBB (Federal Railways), politician (Austrian Social Democratic Party, SPOe). 1984-1990 chairman of the insurance agency for railway workers; from 1989 chairman of the Union of Railway Workers and of the Central Committee of Federal Railway Employees, 1990-1994 and 1997-1999 member of the Nationalrat.
